VideoPal is a cloud-based technology that can create a talking 2D, 3D and human video avatars with dedicated video hosting.
You can either upload your own video or use one of the many male or female animated avatars, 47 different voices and accents, and over 24 different languages.
One of the most notable feature is their text-to-speech technology which converts the paragraphs that you provide into non-robotic voices. Or you can simply choose one of their sales template if you don’t feel like writing your own script.
VideoPal avatar on mobile device
It works on both desktop and mobile devices, although I feel that it works much better on desktop.
Given the small screen size of mobiles devices, the avatar inevitably blocks some of the content of the web page.
However, it is actually much better than some other software I’ve tried before. They had no option to close the avatar and worse still, they are non-transparent and blocks the entire content on the page.
Luckily, you can choose to remove the VideoPal avatar easily if you find it distracting by using the close button.
It’s a non-factor when it comes to desktops due to the large screen estate. No matter which website you put it on, you don’t have to worry about it blocking any of the content.
Who is VideoPal For?
VideoPal is mainly used by internet and affiliate marketers
The main function of VideoPal is to engage site visitors and catch their attention in a unique way, and then converts them into customers or subscribers.
In that sense, it’s best suited for affiliate marketers or website owners who want to grow their email list or simply convert visitors into buyers.

2. VideoPal Profit Campus Review
This is a step-by-step training series created by the owners of VideoPal, Todd Gross and Paul Ponna to show their customers how best to use their software to convert users.
Do note that VideoPal Profit Campus training can only be purchased by existing customers of VideoPal.
Todd Gross claims that the members of the Profit Campus recorded 10 times more profit than non-members, but I’d take it with a grain of salt.
The training focuses on several things.
- Create small 1 to 2 minute videos: These are designed to convert visitors to your website within a short period of time.
- Selling service on freelance websites (such as Fiverr.com): Strategies to use VideoPal and sell video avatars on freelance websites to clients (more details on VideoPal Agency License review below).
- Outsourcing service: Strategies to outsource VideoPal creation process so you can take a backseat.
Do you absolutely need it? It depends. If you need specific step-by-step guide on how to use the video avatar optimally, it may be wise to invest in this membership.
However, if you already have a clear idea on how you want your avatar to look like, what speech to use, and where to place it, you can do without it. The VideoPal interface is quite intuitive and easy to use even without guidance.

3. VideoPal Deluxe Upgrade Review
VideoPal Deluxe: The most important upgrade
Turns out that after purchasing VideoPal software, there is a Deluxe membership that offers “full” access to the software.
And that means, if you are using the regular VideoPal, you are missing out on some hidden features. But what are these hidden functions?
- Hidden 2D, 3D and human video avatars: While you already have access to quite a few avatars in your regular membership, apparently there are still some hidden ones within the VideoPal platform (such as the one shown in the screenshot above).
- New avatars added each month: VideoPal developers add a few new avatars each month so you can rotate your avatar if you want to.
- 12 marketing scripts and voice over: These sales scripts are recorded in male and female human voice overs, and are basically high-powered sales pitch to convert visitors within minutes.
- Priority support: Deluxe memberships get priority access to support teams, shortening the waiting time required to get your questions answered.
- Premium “Text-to-Speech” voices: While the regular membership offers “text-to-speech” function, it may not sound as life-like as the ones used in the VideoPal sales page. Only Deluxe members gain access to 47 male and female voices and the ability to convert their sales scripts into 24 different languages.
- Unlimited Google Cloud hosting: This is a dedicated hosting server to ensure your video avatars are loaded instantly. Compared to regular hosting, a dedicated server eliminates down-time and drastically shorten buffer time for the avatars.
- Early access to updates: Todd Gross promises Deluxe members to get early access to updates and new features before they are rolled out to regular members.
Unlike the Profit Campus which is optional, I’d say that it’s pretty mandatory to get the Deluxe membership for a few reasons – quick technical support, professional marketing scripts and voices, as well as dedicated hosting.
Even if you can do without technical support, write your own script and upload your own voice over for your avatar, the Google Cloud hosting is still a big deal.
Quick loading time is crucial to make marketing tactics like VideoPal successful. You have to catch the visitors’ attention within the first few seconds before they bounce off a page.
Not to mention that hosting on a dedicated server actually costs money every single month. Once the early discount is over, the Deluxe membership will cost $97/month mainly to cover the hosting fees.

4. VideoPal Social Traffic Suite Pro Review
Social Traffic Suite is basically another social media websites manager that posts scheduled content to sites such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn automatically.
Even though Todd Gross says it’s a must-have, it’s not really for everyone. To drive targeted traffic, you have to use paid ads or have a good number of followers on these platforms.
If you don’t have a budget for paid ads or a dedicated social media page to your business, you may still join relevant groups on these platforms and plan scheduled posting for your ads, but the results will naturally not be optimal.
So I’d say the Social Traffic Suite is optional. It’s useful for busy social media account owners who want to schedule their posts ahead, but if you are not planning to use social media as part of your marketing strategy you can give it a pass.

5. VideoPal Agency License Review
This is by far the most expensive up-sell yet, costing $67 one-time payment. The agency license is targeted towards users who want to use VideoPal to create video avatars and sell them to clients.
The Agency License does a few things:
- Removes VideoPal branding. Each video avatar of VideoPal comes with a branding of “powered by videopal.io” at the bottom right corner (see screenshot above). Having the Agency License removes that line.
- Commercial use license. Without the Agency License, you can only use the video avatars on your own websites and properties. You can’t sell video avatar services to clients.
- Step-by-step training for selling video avatars. The up-sell comes with its own training program to teach users how to create video avatars and sell them on freelancing websites.
- List of freelancing websites to find clients. The training also includes a list of popular freelancing websites (Fiverr.com, Upwork.com and many others) where you can find clients.
- Unlimited video hosting. If you sell to a number of clients, you naturally need a large bandwidth to serve the videos. VideoPal Agency License takes care of the hosting so you don’t have to buy your own.
All in all, I’d say the VideoPal Agency License isn’t for everyone. If you are planning to make your own business out of selling video avatars, the Agency License is a pretty good investment at only $67 (special price).
However, if you are planning to use the software for only your own sites and properties, a Deluxe membership is what you need to get the most out of VideoPal.

Verdict: VideoPal is a Powerful Marketing Tool, but Not All Upgrades are Essential
Is VideoPal a scam? Definitely not. However, even though there are a lot of up-sells (like many other digital products), most of them are good-to-have instead of essential.
With that said, using video avatar to attract the attention of visitors is still a relatively new way of marketing, all things considered.
Most online business owners and affiliate marketers are still relying on the more traditional way of capturing visitors attention, such as pop-ups, pop-unders and widgets.
While these techniques have worked for a long time, most internet users have developed “advertisement blindness” where they automatically ignore pop-ups or advertisement banners as they surf the net.
This is inevitable as the average user is bombarded by thousands of online ads every single day. VideoPal is an innovative and new way to capture their attention and therefore dramatically increases the chance of conversion.
I don’t use video avatar on this website because I think it’s not that suitable for audience that wants to read detailed reviews.
However I’ve used it on one of my niche sites in the home improvement category and saw a huge drop in bounce rate and an increase in click-through rate to affiliate links by promoting best products in certain categories.
If you are considering to use it on your web properties, it can definitely make a difference in the way you interact with your visitors.
As far as the up-sells go, if you are a relatively savvy internet marketer who doesn’t need step-by-step training, the Deluxe membership is probably the only essential upgrade you need to make.
