Wealthy Affiliate review – 11 months later

I joined Wealthy Affiliate in June 2015, and it’s approaching 12 months since I first became a premium member of this awesome community.

So, what have changed since then? What have I achieved in the past year, and more importantly, what have I learned from Wealthy Affiliate?

Before my yearly membership renewal, let’s recap what you can expect from the training, the commitment level I gave, and the results I have achieved with this platform.

Of course, results may vary from person to person, but you would at least like to have a benchmark, right?

How Was My Life Before Wealthy Affiliate?

Before we look at the profits achieved as a result Wealthy Affiliate, it’s important to talk about the kind of things you can learn from the platform.

I have to set the expectation right – because it’s not like money comes raining down on you once you join Wealthy Affiliate.

If you expect to start making money by simply becoming a member, you will be sorely disappointed. It’s just not gonna happen.

You need to put in time and effort to make it work. It’s has all the online marketing training and tools for you, but you need to make it work.

When I first signed up almost a year ago, I had zero idea about how to build an affiliate marketing website. Sure, I’ve heard about its potential in generating sustainable income, but that’s about it.

I have been an internet marketer since late 2014 (a rather unsuccessful one at that). If you’ve read my e-book, you would know that I ran campaigns online using paid advertisements, and I made a -50% ROI over a span of 9 months.

Yes, it’s possible to attain -50% ROI. I spent $10,000 advertising money to generate $5,000 in commission, so I made a total loss of $5,000. I finally threw in the towel after 9 grueling months.

That’s when I decided to focus on Wealthy Affiliate to build a sustainable website. Gone were the days where I spend more than $1,000/month on advertising fees, just to make a loss at the end of month.

My Life After Joining Wealthy Affiliate

I actually spent lesser time working online after joining Wealthy Affiliate.

Previously, I spent at least 3 hours/day after my day job to create and maintain my advertising campaigns. On weekends, I spent up to 8 hours researching and launching new ideas.

With Wealthy Affiliate, I am now spending on average 2 hours/day after my day job to learn from video tutorials and to work on my website. On weekends, I spend anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on my schedule.

Most importantly, the whole process is immensely enjoyable. Previously, I had to worry about the performance of my advertising campaigns. I spent a lot of time launching and maintaining them, and stressing over them.

But building a website is entirely different. Yes, there are a lot to learn, but you can do it without spending a single cent with a free WA starter membership.

Not only that, it gave me a sense of accomplishment, knowing I’m capable of building my own online asset. It’s a skill nobody can take away from me.

My Results with Wealthy Affiliate – 11 Months Later

The growth in my online income has been pretty encouraging for the past few months.

In my original review of Wealthy Affiliate, I reported seeing my first $100 profits in the 4th month.

When you are building a website, you have to give it at least a few months before calling quit, because it takes time to generate results. Be prepared to work hard and stay focused on your goals.

On the 5th month, I saw a jump of profits to $500. On the 7th month, I hit my milestone of $1,000/month profits. I didn’t use any paid advertising, this was done purely through SEO techniques, and obtaining organic Google traffic.

Now, at month 11, I am finally on the verge of hitting another milestone – $1,500/month. I’m just thankful that it grows at a steady pace month after month.

Since then, I’ve started another website and it’s showing some promise, too. Now that I have the necessary skills under my belt, I’ve already seen the first $100 contributed from that site in its young age of 3 months.

I’m still holding my day job, because I like the dynamics of the workplace. Originally, I only planned to make some extra pocket money from Wealthy Affiliate, but it seems like it’s growing into a full time income soon.

Even though I don’t have plans to leave my current day job just yet, I feel more secure knowing I have another source of income if I lose the job for any reason.

I’m still learning new techniques from Wealthy Affiliate every day, and the more I learn, the more I realize that the possibilities and potential are limitless when it comes to affiliate marketing and making a living online.

My Verdict on Wealthy Affiliate?

After almost a year with Wealthy Affiliate, it is still my one and only recommendation for anyone who wants to make money online.
